Intro Designed, drafted, and constructed two usable chairs during the Denmark International Study Program (DISP) in Copenhagen. The challenge was to create a chair or stool primarily from 6 meters of metal tubing. For inspiration and education, we toured designers and manufacturers in Scandinavia with local professors.

Sketches I came to the conclusion that a circle of tubing would create the most area for the material used, and a warped circle would create the most volume. For references, I inspected the seat of a chair that also had a grid of filament as a seat. Sourced tennis raquet grommets and fishing line from local shops. Welded rolled steel for strength and durability.

Usability Can be used as a chair, recliner, and stool. Surprisingly light and incredibly strong.

Glamor Shot The "test" model at 2/3 scale was such a success, I ended up with two enjoyable chairs for the same 6 meters of metal tubing.
